| Gram-positive cocci. Some species may be motile. Facultative anaerobes. Most are resistant to 0.4% sodium azide, 6.5% NaCl or 40% (v/v) bile. Grow at 10 °C and 45 °C, optimally at 35-37 °C. Fermentative metabolism. |
