Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive, coccoid cells, 1 µm in diameter, usually occuring singly. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on mMRS agar plate are small, circular, smooth, convex, with entire margins,
greyish-white and  1-1.5 mm in diameter after 2 days incubation at 30 ºC. Can grow at
37 ºC and at pH 11. No growth at 45 ºC, at pH 5 or in 5% NaCl in mMRS agar.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from traditional pickle juice in Heilongjiang province, in China.
Sensitive to 5 µg/ml erythromycin, 5 µg/ml ampicillin and 5 µg/ml chloramphenicol. Resistant to 300 µg/ml neomycin sulfate.
Tellurite tolerant.
Undetermined.
