Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas sichuanensis Qin et al. 2019.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.2-0.5 x 1.5-2.0 µm in size. Motile by polar flagella.
Non-sporogenous.
Colonies on BHI plates after 24 h of incubation at 30 ºC are white, round, convex,
smooth, with entire margins and approximately 1.0-4.0 mm in diameter. Growth
occurs in 0-4% (w/v) NaCl, at pH of pH 5-9 and temperatures of 4-37 ºC (but not at 41
and 44 ºC). Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from hospital sewage in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.

Positive results for arginine dihydrolase, catalase, gelatinase, oxidase, acid production from glucose, inositol, mannitol, rhamnose
and sorbitol.
Can assimilate D-aspartic acid, capric acid, citrate, D-fructose-6-phosphate, glucose, alpha-D-glucose, D-glucuronic acid,
glucuronamide, guanidine HCl, inositol, malic acid, mannose, phenylacetate, potassium gluconate, quinic acid, rhamnose, D-serine,
1% sodium lactate and sorbitol.
Weak results for: acetic acid, acetoacetic acid, L-alanine, gamma-amino-butryric acid, L-arginine, L-aspartic acid, dextrin,
bromo-succinic acid, citric acid, D-fructose, D- and L-fucose, fusidic acid, L-galactonic acid lactone, D-galacturonic acid, gelatin,
D-gluconic acid, L-glutamic acid, L-histidine, p-hydroxy-phenylacetic acid, alpha-keto-glutaric acid, L-lactic acid, lithium chloride,
L-malic acid, D-mannitol, mucic acid, L-rhamnose, D-saccharic acid, L-serine and sodium bromate.
Negative results for aesculin hydrolysis, beta-galactosidase production, H2S production, indole production, lysine decarboxylase,
nitrate reduction, ornithine decarboxylase, phenylalanine, tryptophan, urease and Voges-Proskauer test.
No utilization of: N-acetyl neuraminic acid, N-acetyl-D-galactosamine, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, N-acetyl-glucosamine,
N-acetyl-beta-D-mannosamine, adipate, amygdalin, arabinose, D-arabitol, butyric acid, D-cellobiose, formic acid, D-galactose,
gentiobiose, D-glucose-6-phosphate, glycerol, glycyl-L-proline, alpha-hydroxy-butyric acid, inosine, L-alpha-keto-butyric acid, D-lactic
acid methyl ester, alpha-D-lactose, malic acid, maltose, mannitol, melibiose, 3-methyl glucose, methyl pyruvate, methyl
