According to Lalucat et al. (2020), this species is a later heterotypic synonym of
Pseudomonas nitroreducens.

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods,  0.6-0.7 x 1.1-1.4 µm. Weakly motile by one polar flagellum.
Colonies are opalescent, opaque, lackluster, moist, circular and about 1 mm in
diameter after 48-h incubation at 30
ºC on Luria-Bertani agar. Grows at 15-41 ºC
(optimum, 25-30 ºC), at pH 4.0-12.0 (optimum, pH 8.0) and in the presence of 0-6%
NaCl (optimum, 4%). Aerobic.
Isolated from a wheat soil subjected to herbicides for several years.
Sensitive to amikacin, piperacillin, ciprofloxacin, tetracycline, gentamicin. Resistant to roxithromycin, clindamycin, penicillin G,
sulfamethoxazole, amoxicillin, chloramphenicol, bacitracin, erythromycin, vancomycin, ampicillin, azithromycin, rifampicin and
novobiocin.

Positive results for catalase, H2S production, nitrate and nitrite reduction, oxidase and urease.
Can utilize as sole carbon source: trehalose, glucose, fructose, galactose, lactic acid, malic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, cysteine,
leucine, histidine, phenylalanine, methionine, isoleucine, tryptophan and cystine.

Negative results for gelatin hydrolysis, methyl-red test, phenylalanine deaminase, starch hydrolysis, Tween 80 hydrolysis,
Voges-Proskauer test.
No utilization of:  sucrose, lactose, maltose, xylose, sorbose, raffinose, rhamnose, cellobiose, arabinose, dextrin, mannitol,
myo-inositol, sorbitol, oxalic acid, tartaric acid, alanine, glutamic acid, aminoacetic acid, L-arginine, DL-asparagine, serine,
L-threonine, L-lysine.
