D-galactose, sucrose (negative in Gonzalez's paper), D-ribose, D-xylose, D-arabitol, glycerol, myo-inositol, erythritol, D-saccharate,
mucate, L-tartrate, meso-tartrate, D- and L-malate, cis- and trans-aconitate, D-glucuronate, D-galacturonate, protocatechuate,
p-hidroxybenzoate, quinate, trigonelline, betaine, 4-aminobutyrate, caprylate, succinate, fumarate, L-aspartate, L-glutamate, L-proline,
D- and L-alanine and L-serine.
Negative results for arginine hydrolysis, cystine arylamidase, DNase, esculin hydrolysis (positive in Gonzalez's paper),
alpha-fucosidase, beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, indole
production, lecithinase, alpha-mannosidase, nitrates reduction, oxidase, starch hydrolysis, alpha-chymotrypsin, urease, acid
production from: lactose, maltose, salicin, and starch.

Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas caricapapayae Robbs 1956.
Gram-negative, straight or slightly curved rods, 0.9–1.1 x 1.3–3.0 µm. Motile by 3-6
polar flagella.
Green fluorescent pigment is produced. Optimum growth temperature: 23-29 ºC; no
growth below 7 ºC and above 45 ºC. No pectinolytic activity
Isolated from pawpaw (Carica papaya), Brasil.
Isolated from watersoaked, angular spots on leaves of Carica papaya.
