Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods 1-1.2 µm x 2.5-3.3 μm. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on LB agar are translucent, round, yellow-beige coloured. Fluorescent
pigment is produced on King’s medium B. Grows at temperature range of 4-37 ºC at
pH 5.5-8 and 0-4.6% NaCl. Facultative anaerobe.
Isolated from the rhizosphere soil of a runner bean (Phaseolus coccineus) field that was collected from the island of Reichenau, Lake
Constance, Germany. Can utilize canavanine as the sole carbon and nitrogen source.
Undetermined.
