Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive coccoid or ovoid cells. Non-motie. Endospores are not formed.
Colonies on MRS agar plates are light yellow, opaque and about 0.2 mm in diameter.
Grow well anaerobically on MRS agar at 30 ºC. Growth occurs at 10-40 ºC (optimum,
30 ºC), at pH 5.0-7.5 (optimum, pH 7.0) and at NaCl concentrations of 0-1.5% (w/v).
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the gut of a wood-feeding termite, Nasutitermes hainanensis.
Undetermined.
