Gram-positive rods, occurring singly or in pairs. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Grows well after 24 hours of anaerobic incubation at 30 ºC on MRS agar. Grows at
25-37 ºC; optimum temperature is 30 ºC. No growth at 15 or 45 ºC. Can grow in NaCl
0-6%. Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from banana fruits, Taiwan.
Undetermined.
Homofermentative.
Description is based mostly on API 50 CHL and API ZYM (bioMerieux) results.

Positive results for arginine dihydrolase, acid phosphatase, cystine arylamidase (weak reaction), esterase (C4), alpha- and
beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, acid production from arbutin, esculin, D-fructose, galactose, glucose (without gas
production), lactose, maltose, mannose, rhamnose, salicin, sucrose, D-tagatose, trehalose, turanose, and N-acetylglucosamine.

Negative results for catalase, beta-glucuronidase, acid production from amygdalin, adonitol, D- and L-arabitol, D- and L-arabinose,
cellobiose, dulcitol, erythritol, D- and L-fucose, gentibiose, glycogen, gluconate, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, glycerol, inositol, inulin,
