Gram-positive rods,0.7 x 1.0-6.0 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming
Colonies are grayish-white, smooth, 0.2-0.6 mm in diameter after 3 days of
incubation on MRS agar at 30 ºC under anaerobic conditions. Grows at 15-37 ºC
(optimally at 30 ºC), at pH 4.0-8.0 (optimally at pH 6.0) and in 0-4% NaCl media.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from spent mushroom substrate, Japan.

Description is based on API 50 CHL (7 days incubation at 30 ºC) and API ZYM results.
Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, ammonia produced from arginine, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), alpha-
and beta-galactosidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, leucine arylamidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase,
fermentation of L-arabinose, esculin, D-fructose, glucose (with gas production), 2- and 5-ketogluconate, D-lyxose, ribose, methyl
alpha-D-xyloside, D-xylose, and methyl beta-D-xylopyranoside.
Negative results for catalase, cystine arylamidase, alpha-fucosidase, lipase (C14), alpha-mannosidase,
N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, valine arylamidase, fermentation of adonitol, amygdalin, arbutin,
D-arabinose, D- and L-arabitol, cellobiose, dulcitol, erythritol, L- and D-fucose, galactose, gentiobiose, gluconate, glycerol, glycogen,
inositol, inulin, lactose, maltose, mannitol, mannose, melezitose, melibiose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, methyl
alpha-D-mannopyranoside, N-acetylglucosamine, raffinose, rhamnose, salicin, sorbitol, L-sorbose, starch, sucrose, D-tagatose,
trehalose, turanose, xylitol, and L-xylose.
