Gram-positive rods.
Grows well anaerobically at 37 ºC on MRS agar. Facultative anaerobe. Grows at 20-45
ºC (
37 ºC optimum). Can grow at pH 4.0 and in 12% NaCl media.
Isolated from fermented soybean meal.
Undetermined.
Homofermentative.
Description is based mostly on API 50 CHL and API ZYM (bioMerieux) results.

Positive results for acid phosphatase, esterase (C4), alpha- and beta-glucosidase, beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase,
N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, valine aminopeptidase, cysteine aminopeptidase, leucine aminopeptidase, acid production from
amygdalin, arbutin, cellobiose, esculin, D-fructose, galactose, gentiobiose, glucose (without gas production), lactose, maltose,
