Gram-negative rods, 2-3 x 0.5-1.0 µm. Motile by peritrichous flagella.
Maximum temperature for growth in nutrient broth is 40 ºC. Yellow or brown pigment
is produced. Annular hemolysis observed on sheep-blood agar
(variable) and
negative on horse-blood agar.
Isolated from human wounds and blood in Australia.
