Gram-negative rods, 0.5-1.0 x 1.0-3.0 µm, with rounded ends.
Colonies incubated at 28 ºC on potato dextrose agar are rounded, dry, wrinkled and
cream; a diffusible bluish pigment is often present. Grows at 36 and 39 ºC.
Facultativelly anaerobic.
Isolated from river water.

D-alanine, L-alanyl glycine, L-asparagine, L-leucine, L-phenylalanine, L-pyroglutamic acid and phenylethylamine.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, H2S production, lysine decarboxylase, ornithine decarboxylase, oxidase, tryptophan
deaminase, urease, acid production from D-arabinose, beta-gentibiose, inositol, mannitol, and sorbitol.
