Gram-negative rods, 0.8 x 1-1.3 µm, occuring singly. Motile by peritrichous flagella.
Colonies are pale cream on nutrient agar, round, convex and smooth with entire
margins. Strains can grow at temperatures between 10 and 40 ºC. Facultatively
anaerobic.
Isolated from oak trees (Quercus robur) displaying symptoms of acute oak decline (AOD) in the UK.
Associated with acute oak decline.
