Bifidobacterium tibiigranuli Eckel, Ziegler, Vogel and Ehrmann, 2020.
Gram-positive short irregular rods, 2-3/1 µm and often form short chains, sometimes
branched. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, opaque, smooth, 1-2 mm in diameter after 3 days of anaerobic
incubation on TPY agar, BM agar or MRS agar. Growth temperature 15-40 ºC
(optimum 30 ºC), pH 4.0-8.5 (optimum pH 6.5). Facultatively naerobic.
Isolated from homemade water kefirs, Germany.
Undetermined.
