Gram-positive coccobacilli and short rods, arranged in clusters sometimes.
Non-motile. Non-spore-forming. Mycolic acids are not present.
Colonies are smooth, slightly convex with a glassy appearance, 0.2-0.5 mm in diameter
after 48 h of incubation, 5% CO2, on sheep blood agar. CAMP test is negative. Grows at
37 ºC. Facultatively anaerobic.
