Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci. Non-spore-forming. Non-motile.
Colonies on R2A agar are yellow, smooth, convex and circular with entire edges.
Grows on blood agar. Grows at 20-37 ºC (optimum at 30 ºC) at 6.0-9.0 pH (optimum
pH 7.0) and in 1-6% NaCl. No growth was observed at 15 or 42 ºC. Aerobic.
Isolated from sludge of a biofilm reactor in Korea. Resistant to imipenem and hygromycin. Sensitive to tetracycline, penicillin G,
ampicillin and streptomycin.

Negative results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, arginine dihydrolase, catalase, cystine arylamidase, esterase lipase (C8),
alpha-fucosidase, gelatin hydrolysis, alpha- and beta-galactosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, alpha-glucosidase,
beta-glucuronidase, indole production, leucine arylamidase, lipase (C14), alpha-mannosidase, nitrate reduction, oxidase, trypsin,
alpha-chymotrypsin, urease, valine arylamidase, acid production from amygdalin, L-arabinose, arabitol, arbutin, cellobiose, dulcitol,
esculin, fucose, galactose, gentibiose, glycogen, N-acetylglucosamine, inositol, inulin, lactose, lyxose, mannose, mannitol,
melibiose, melezitose, raffinose, rhamnose, salicin, sorbitol, sorbose, starch, sucrose, tagatose and D-xylose.
