Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive pleomorphic, V-shaped rods. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies have a weak zone of haemolysis in microaerobic conditions  on sheep and
rabbit blood agar and are pinpoint, discoid, opaque and whitish. Facultative anaerobic.
Grows at 37 ºC. CAMP-like reactions and reverse CAMP reaction are positive.
Isolated from an anal swab of a harbour seal (Phoca vitulina).
Undetermined.

Description is based on API CORYNE (bioMerieux) results.

Positive results for alkaline phosphatase, amylase (weak reaction), catalase, beta-galactosidase, alpha-glucosidase, pyrazinamidase,
pyrrolidonyl arylamidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, acid production from: D-glucose, glycogen, lactose, maltose, sucrose (weak
reaction) & D-xylose (weak reaction).

Negative results for caseinase, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha-mannosidase,
nitrate reduction, oxidase, urease, acid production from: D-mannitol & D-ribose.
