Gram-negative, slightly curved cells, 1 x 2-3 µm, motile by at least one polar flagellum.
Colonies on TSA are translucent, not swarming , convex, smooth, rounded, dark
beige, 3-4 mm in diameter after 48 hours at 28 ºC incubation. Colonies on TCBS agar
are green (except the strain LMG 13251T which are transparent).
Variable growth in nutrient broth with: 8% NaCl. No growth in 0% or 10% NaCl.
Variable growth at 4 ºC. No growth at 35 ºC. Facultative anaerobe. Nonluminescent.
Isolated from the gut of turbot larvae (Scophthalmus maximus) in Norway, from rotifer (Brachionus plicatilis) in Greece, water in
Greece,
Artemisia sp. in Spain, sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) in Greece.
Susceptible to vibriostatic agent O/129. Ampicillin resistant.
Unknown.

deaminase, valine arylamidase, H
2S production, urease, alpha-glucosidase, beta-glucosidase, gelatinase, acid production from:
sucrose, arabinose, sorbitol, melibiose, inositol & rhamnose.
No utilization of L-arabinose, methyl beta-D-glucoside, alpha-cyclodextrin, gentiobiose, alpha-D-lactose, lactulose, putrescine,
