Colonies within 7 days that are medium-sized, flat and dry with an undulated border
and which turn pale orange once exposed to light. Grows at 28 (optimally) and 37 ºC.
No growth at 45 ºC. No growth in media containing 5% NaCl. Aerobe.
Isolated from non-contaminated soil from Wahiawa, Hawaii, USA.
Can degrade/utilize phenanthrene, fluoranthene, and pyrene.

Positive results for catalase, alkaline phosphatase alpha-glucosidase (weak), and nitrate reduction.
Can utilize glucose, D-fructose, D-mannitol, and succinic acid.
Negative results for beta-glucuronidase, beta-galactosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, gelatin hydrolysis, pyrrolidonyl
arylamidase, esculin hydrolysis and urease.
No utilization of L-arabinose, citrate, dextrin, glycerol, D-ribose, trehalose, and D-xylose.
