Acid-alcohol-fast rods. Gram-positive. Non-motile.
Colonies after 5 days incubation at 37 ºC on Middelbrook 7H10, Lowenstein-Jensen,
proteose peptone–meat extract-glycerol, glucose-yeast extract-malt extract and tryptic
soy agar plates are yellow-orange. Grows at 28-37 ºC, optimally at 37 ºC, and at pH 7.
No growth at 10, 25 or 45 ºC. Grows in the presence of up to 8% w/v NaCl.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Source of isolation is unknown.
Resistant to sodium bromate, guanidine hydrochloride, tetrazolium blue, tetrazolium violet, vancomycin, aztreonam, lithium chloride,
nalidixic acid, rifamycin and potassium tellurite. Susceptible to fusidic acid, lincomycin, minocycline, niaproof and troleandomycin.
Undetermined.
