Acid-fast rods. Gram-positive. Does not form endospores or conidiospores.
Colonies, after  24-36 hours on Luria-Bertani agar incubation at 37 ºC, are smooth,
light yellow, round, translucent and 2.0-3.0 mm in diameter. Temperature range
is 25-
45 º
C. Grows well on LB agar, Sauton’s medium and TSA at 37 ºC. Grows on
MacConkey agar, but not in the presence of 5% w/v NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from a soil sample collected from the seashore of Haikou, Hainan Province, China.
Susceptible to cefalotin, amikacin, ciprofloxacin, doxycycline, linezolid, tobramycin and sulfamethylisoxazole. Resistant to clarithromycin.

Positive results for nitrate reduction, thermostable catalase, tellurite reduction, Tween 80 hydrolysis, and urease.

Negative results for arylsulfatase (3 days), beta-glucosidase, semiquantitative catalase test, niacin accumulation and
starch
hydrolysis.
