Acid-fast rods.
Colonies are unpigmentated. Visible growth on solid media requires 3-5 days of
incubation at 25-37 ºC, optimum at 28 ºC. Can grow in the presence of 5% NaCl, p-
nitrobenzoate and picric acid.
Undetermined. Isolated from a patient with pulmonary disease.
Isolated from water. Susceptible to clarithromycin (most strains), amikacin, ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin, doxycycline and minocycline.
