Acid-alcohol-fast rods. Gram-positive. Non-motile. Non-sporeforming.
Colonies are rough, ivory-coloured on Middelbrook 7H10 and peptone meat extract
glycerol agar after 7 days at 37 ºC in both the dark and light. Grows from 28 to 37 ºC,
optimally at 37 ºC, from pH 7 to 8, optimally at pH 7.0. No growth at 10, 25 or 45 ºC.
Aerobic. No growth in 1% NaCl.
Undetermined.
Isolated from sputum of a patient in Switzerland.
Resistant to aztreonam, carbenicillin, capreomycin, cephalothin, chloramphenicol, cloxacillin, colistin, demeclocycline, nafcillin,
ofloxacin, oxacillin, paromomycin, penicillin G, sisomicin, amikacin, cephalothin, chlortetracycline, carbenicillin, spiramycin,
tobramycin, and tetracycline. Susceptible to fusidic acid, guanidine hydrochloride, lincomycin, lithium chloride, nalidixic acid, niaproof,
tetrazolium blue, troleandomycin, L-aspartic-beta-hydroxamate, 2,4-diamino-6,7-diisopropylpteridine, 5-fluoroorotic acid, polymyxin B,
DL-serine hydroxamate, spectinomycin, sulfamethazine, and sulfamethoxazol.

arylamidase, Tween 80 hydrolysis, and tellurite reduction.
Can utilize cellobiose, D-fructose, D- and L-fucose, D-galactose, D-glucose-6-phosphate, myo-inositol, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine,
maltose, methyl beta-D-glucoside, stachyose, sucrose, turanose, L-alanine, L-glutamic acid, alpha-keto-butyric acid, D-gluconic acid,
D-glucuronic acid, D-saccharic acid, acetic acid, butyric acid, beta-hydroxy-butyric acid, dodecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide,
