Partially acid-fast, pleomorphic, short rods. Non-motile. Aerial hyphae are not
produced.
Colonies are smooth, convex, round, shiny, moist, non-pigmented (beige) and
approximately 1-2 mm in diameter. Grows to on Lowenstein-Jensen slopes within 4
days and on 5% sheep blood agar within 7 days at 20, 25, 30, 37, and 42 ºC. The
optimal temperature for growth is 37 ºC. Variable growth at 45 ºC.
Undetermined.
Isolated from bovine lymph nodes in France.

chromogenic species isolated from the lymph nodes of cattle. Int J Syst Evol Microbiol 2013; 63:4669-4674.
Positive results for arylsulfatase (3 days), thermostable catalase, Tween 80 hydrolysis.
Negative results for nitrate reduction, and urease. No utilization of D-glucose, D-mannitol and D-sorbose.
