Gram-positive, irregular rods, 0.7-1.0 x 1.4-1.9 µm, showing a rod-coccus cycle.
Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies after 3 days incubation on TSA agar at 25 ºC are creamy yellow, convex,
round, 0.5-1.0 mm in diameter. Growth occurs at 4-25 ºC (optimum at 25 ºC), pH 7-8
(optimum at pH 7), and in the presence of 0-4% (w/v) NaCl (optimum at 0.5-2%).
Aerobic.
Isolated from glacier ice, China .
