Only one strain has been isolated and tested.
Gram-positive rods, 1.0 / 2.0-4.0 µm. Non-motile. Nonspore-forming.
Colonies on MRS agar are gray, small (1-2 mm in diameter), translucent, circular,
smooth,  after 2 days of incubation in microaerophilic conditions at 30ºC. Grows at
temperature range 13-37 ºC, no growth at 4 or 45 ºC. Grows at pH 3.7 and 4.5, but not
at pH 8.0. Grows in 5% NaCl media, variable in 10% NaCl media.
Isolated from sausage.
No pathogenicity.
Homofermentative.

Positive results for arginine hydrolysis (weak reaction), arginine arylamidase, alanine arylamidase, esculin hydrolysis,
beta-glucosidase, glycine arylamidase, leucine arylamidase, proline arylamidase, serine arylamidase, valine arylamidase,
Voges-Proskauer test, acid production from fructose, fucose, glucose, maltose, mannitol, mannose, N-acetylglucosamine, rhamnose,
