Tanasupawat, Pakdeeto, Thawai, Yukphan and Okada 2007.
Homotypic synonym: Lacticaseibacillus thailandensis (Tanasupawat, Pakdeeto, Thawai, Yukphan and Okada 2007) Zheng et al. 2020.
Gram-positive rods, 0.5-0.6 / 2-6 µm, occurring singly, in pairs or in short chains.
Colonies are white, low-convex with entire edges, 0.3-1.0 mm in diameter on MRS
agar. Facultative anaerobe. Grows at 15 ºC (weakly); not at 45 ºC. Grows at pH 8.5; not
at 3.5 or 9.0. Grows in 4% NaCl media.
Isolated from fermented tea leaves (miang), Thailand.
Description is based mostly on API 50 CH results. Homofermentative.
