Gram-positive rods, 0.7-1.0 x 1.7-2.8 µm, occurring singly, in pairs or in short chains.
Colonies are beige, convex, smooth with entire margins, 1 mm in diameter after 3
days at 30 ºC on mMRS agar. Can grow at 37 ºC (optimum 30 ºC) . Grows at pH 5.0,
but not at pH 11.0. Weak growth in 6.5% NaCl. Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from traditional pickle, China. Tellurite tolerant.
