Gram-positive rods, 0.7-0.8 x 1.7-2.7 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, smooth, convex after 2days of incubation at 37 ºC on MRS agar.
Grows at 4-40 ºC (optimum 37
ºC), pH 3-9 (optimum pH 7.0), and NaCl 0-5%.
Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from Nuruk, a Korean traditional fermentation starter.
Undetermined.
Homofermentative.
Description is based mostly on API 50 CHL, API 20NE and API ZYM (bioMerieux) results.

Positive results for arginine dihydrolase, acid phosphatase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, leucine arylamidase, valine arylamidase,
acid production from amygdalin, arbutin, cellobiose, esculin, D-fructose, galactose, gentibiose, glucose (without gas production),
