Gram-positive rods, 0.8 x 1.5-6.0 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are convex, grey-white, 0.5-1.0 mm in diameter after 3 days of incubation at
30 ºC on MRS agar. Grows at 15-45 ºC, optimally at 30 ºC. Grows in 4% NaCl, variable
growth in 6.5% NaCl. Grows at pH 4.0-7.5. Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from total mixed ration silage, Japan.
