Gram-positive rods, 0.2-0.5 x 0.6-3 µm, occurring singly, in pairs or in short chains.
Colonies are yellowish or white, smooth, convex, 1 mm in diameter after 3 days of
incubation at 30 ºC on mMRS agar. Can grow at 15-37 ºC ; no growth at 10 ºC; weak
growth at 45 ºC. Grows in 7% NaCl media; weakly in 7.5% NaCl. Grows at pH 4.0-8.0.
Isolated from the gut of the grasshopper Metrioptera engelhardti, Japan and from a soil sample, Korea.
