Gram-positive straight rods, 1 x 1.5-3 µm, occurring singly or in short chains.
Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are rough, beige, 1.5-2 mm in diameter after 2 days of incubation at 30 ºC
on mMRS agar. Grows at 15-37 ºC, pH 5.0, and NaCl 0-5%. Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from traditional pickle in China. Tellurite tolerance.
Undetermined.

Positive results for arginine deamination, esculin hydrolysis, H2S production, acid production from amygdalin, arbutin, cellobiose, D-
fructose, galactose, gentibiose, glucose (without gas production), lactose, maltose, mannose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside,
