Gram-positive rods. Non-spore-forming.
Grows at 30 ºC on mMRS agar. Can grow at 15 ºC, but not at 45 ºC. Facultative
anaerobic. Weak growth in the presence of 10% NaCl.
Isolated from traditional pickle, China.

Description is based mostly on API 50 CHL and API ZYM (bioMerieux) results.

Positive results for acid phosphatase (weak reaction), cystine arylamidase (weak reaction), alpha- and beta-glucosidase,
N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, acid production from amygdalin, cellobiose, esculin, D-fructose, galactose, gentiobiose, glucose
(without gas production), lactose, maltose, mannose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, salicin, sucrose, D-tagatose, trehalose, and
N-acetylglucosamine.

Negative results for catalase, esterase (C4), beta-glucuronidase, acid production from adonitol, D- and L-arabitol, arbutin, D- and
