Gram-positive rods, 0.5-1 / 2-5 µm, occurring singly or in pairs. Non-spore-forming.
Non-motile.
Colonies are greyish-white to pale yellow, flat, smooth, 2-5 mm in diameter after 2
days at 30 ºC on MRS agar. Growth temperature range is 10-37 ºC. No growth at 6 or
45 ºC. Grows in 0-12% NaCl media (weak growth in 14% NaCl). Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from salami produced in Germany.
Undetermined.
Description is based mostly on API ZYM and API 50 CHL (bioMerieux) results.

Positive results for acid phosphatase, cystine arylamidase, esterase (C4), alpha- and beta-glucosidase, leucine arylamidase, lipase
(C14), valine arylamidase, acid production from arbutin, cellobiose, D-fructose, galactose, gentiobiose, glucose (without gas
production), lactose, ribose, salicin, D-tagatose, and N-acetylglucosamine.
