Gram-positive rods, 0.5-0.7 x 1.5-2 µm, occurring singly or in pairs. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are beige, convex, smooth with entire margins, 1.5 mm in diameter after 3
days at 30 ºC on mMRS agar. No growth at 37 ºC. Grows at pH 5.0, but not at pH 11.0.
Grows in 6% NaCl media; not in 6.5% NaCl. Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from traditional pickle, China. Tellurite tolerant .
