Gram-positive rods, 0.9-1.2 / 3-8 µm, occurring singly, in pairs or in short chains.
Non-spore-forming. Non-motile.
Colonies are beige, convex, smooth with entire margins, 0.5-2 mm in diameter after 2
days at 30 ºC on mMRS agar. Facultative anaerobe. Grows at 10-37 ºC (optimally at
30 ºC).
Isolated from white maize, orchardgrass, cassava, tapioca, fermented cereals, fermented millet, fermented cucumber, fermented
batter, silages and cow udder. Tellurite tolerant.
Undetermined.
Description is based mostly on API 50 CHL (bioMerieux) results / 48h.

Positive results for esculin hydrolysis, hippurate hydrolysis, acid production from amygdalin, cellobiose, D-fructose, galactose,
