Gram-negative, small, coccoid rods. Motile.
Grows on nutrient agar, blood agar  and  Luria-Bertani medium (Difco) at 28 ºC
(optimally).
Isolated from a rabbit in Germany.

Positive results for catalase, esculin hydrolysis, nitrate reduction,urease, ONPG, acid production from: L-arabinose, glycerine,
glucose, rhamnose, trehalose and D-xylose.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, citrate utilization, gelatinase, indole production, H
2S production, lysine decarboxylase,
malonate utilization, oxidase, ornithine decarboxylase, pyrazinamidase,  tryptophan deaminase, Voges-Proskauer test, acid
production from: adonitol, amygdalin, cellobiose, dulcitol, inositol, inulin, melibiose, raffinose, salicin, sorbitol, sorbose and sucrose.

Variable results for acid production from lactose.
