Gram-negative, coccoid rods, 0.85 x 2.23 μm. Motile at 28 ºC by one to two flagella of
6.75 μm.
Colonies on 5% blood sheep agar after 24 h incubation are circular and convex.
Growth occurs at 28 and 37 ºC.

decarboxylase, ONPG, ornithine decarboxylase, nitrate reduction, tryptophan deaminase, pyrazinamidase, urease, acid production
from: amygdalin, L-arabinose,  glucose, inositol, mannitol, sorbitol, salicin and sucrose.

Negative results for gelatinase, H
2S production, oxidase, Voges-Proskauer test (weakly positive after 3 days incubation), acid
production from: melibiose and L-rhamnose.
