Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods. Motile.
Grows well aerobically on LB agar at 25-37 ºC. On XLD agar produce 1.5-2.0 mm
diameter salmon pink colonies at 25 ºC in 48 h.
Isolated from  lairage floor in a pig slaughterhouse in the Republic of Ireland.
Resistant to O129 vibriostatic agent.

Species description is based on VITEK GN2 and API 20 E (BioMerieux) results.

Positive results for beta-glucuronidase, ornithine decarboxylase, phosphatase, pyrrolydonyl-arylamidase, tyrosine arylamidase,
urease, acid production from amygdalin (positive at 28 ºC and negative at 37 ºC), L-arabinose, D-glucose, inositol (positive at 28 ºC
and negative at 37 ºC), D-mannitol and D-sorbitol.
Can utilize glucose, mannitol, mannose and sorbitol.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, citrate utilization, gelatinase, gamma-glutamyl-transferase, beta-galactosidase,
beta-glucosidase, beta-xylosidase, H
2S production, indole production, lipase, lysine decarboxylase, Voges-Proskauer test, acid
production from: melibiose, L-rhamnose.and sucrose.
No utilisation of adonitol, L-arabitol, cellobiose, L-histidine, 5-ketogluconate, maltose, L-malate, malonate, palatinose, sucrose,
tagatose and trehalose.
