Gram-negative rods. Motile.
Cells grow aerobically at 25-37 ºC on LB agar, producing 1.5-2.0 mm diameter
colonies after 24 hours incubation.

Positive results for beta-galactosidase, indole production, urease, acid production from: amygdalin, L-arabinose, D-glucose, inositol
(positive at 28 ºC and negative at 37 ºC), D-mannitol, D-sorbitol and sucrose.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, citrate utilization, gelatinase, lysine decarboxylase, ornithine decarboxylase, H2S production,
tryptophan deaminase, Voges-Proskauer test, acid production from: melibiose and L-rhamnose.
