Phylum Proteobacteria, Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Enterobacteriales, Family Enterobacteriaceae, Genus Scandinavium,
Scandinavium goeteborgense Marathe et al. 2020, type species of the genus.
Gram-negative rods, 1 x 2 µm. Motile.
Colonies on Columbia Blood Agar are 2-3 mm in size, circular, moist and smooth.
Optimum temperature for growth is 30-37 ºC, no growth observed at 4 ºC and 42 ºC.
Facultatively anaerobic. Not haemolytic on horse blood.
Isolated from a wound infection of an adult patient in Sweden.
Sensitive to cefotaxime, co-trimaxozole, meropenem, tetracycline, tobramycin, and ciprofloxacin. Resistant to ampicillin.
Undetermined.
