Gram-negative, 0.5–0.8 x 1.0–3.0 µm, rods presenting hairlike pili and flagella.
Growth temperature is 10-45 ºC (optimum temperature is 37 ºC). Grows in the
presence of up to 15% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 1% NaCl) and pH  4-10.
Isolated from a food sample in Fujian province, China.

Positive results for catalase, esterase, gelatin hydrolysis,  H
2S production, indole production, phenylalanine deaminase,
L-tryptophane, urease, valine arylamidase, acid production from D-arabinose, D-fructose, D-galactose, D-glucose, glycerol,
gluconate, maltose, melezitose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, N-acetyl
glucosamine, D-ribose, sucrose, trehalose, turanose, and
xylose.

Negative results for citrate utilization, esculin hydrolysis, esterase lipase, lipase, ornithine decarboxylase, trypsin, acid production
from amygdalin, L-arabinose, D-adonitol,  D- and L-arabitol, arbutin, D-celiobiose, dulcitol, esculin, erythritol, D- and L-fucose,
gentiobiose, glycogen, inositol, inulin, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, D-lactose, D-lyxose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, D-melibiose,
methyl-alpha-D-mannopyranoside, D-raffinose, rhamnose, salicin, D-sorbitol, L-sorbose, starch, D-tagatose, xylitol, L-xylose, and
methyl-beta-D-xylopyranoside.
