Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are circular, white, translucent, raised and smooth after 24 h of incubation at
35 ºC on nutrient agar. Growth occurs at 4-40 ºC with optimal growth at 35-37 ºC, but
not at 42, 45 or 50 ºC. Grows at pH 5.0-10.0 (optimally at pH 6.0–7.0) and in the
presence of 0-8% (w/v) NaCl in tryptic soy broth. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from a human blood sample in China. Susceptible to amikacin, gentamicin, tobramycin, aztreonam, cefepime,
cefotaxime, cefpodoxime, ceftazidime, ceftizoxime, ceftriaxone, doripenem, ertapenem, imipenem, meropenem, piperacillin,
piperacillin/tazobactam, ticarcillin, ticarcillin+clavulanic acid, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin, nalidixic acid, norfloxacin,
tetracycline, tigecycline and trimethoprim+sulfamethoxazole. Resistant to ampicillin, ampicillin+sulbactam, amoxicillin+clavulanic
acid, cefazolin, cefotetan, cefuroxime and cephalothin. Variable susceptibility to nitrofurantoin.
Undetermined.
