Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 1.8 x 4.3 µm. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are circular, white, translucent, raised and smooth after 24 h of incubation at
35 ºC on nutrient agar. Growth occurs at 4-37 ºC with optimal growth at 35-37 ºC, but
not at 45 or 50 ºC. Grows in the presence of 0-9% (w/v) NaCl in tryptic soy broth.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from a human blood sample in China.
Susceptible to amikacin, aztreonam, cefepime, cefotaxime, ceftazidime, ceftriaxone, ertapenem, gentamicin, imipenem, meropenem,
piperacillin-tazobactam, tobramycin and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. Resistant to cefotetan, ceftizoxime, ciprofloxacin, colistin,
levofloxacin and tigecycline, and intermediate to nitrofurantoin.
Undetermined.
