Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive rods. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming. Corynemycolic acids are
present. Tuberculostearic acid is present.
Colonies on sheep blood Columbia agar are dry, creamy and 0.1-0.3 mm in diameter
after 48 h incubation at 37 ºC; larger creamy colonies were observed on Brain-heart
infusion agar and on Trypticase soy agar supplemented with 1 % Tween 80.
Non-haemolytic. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from human blood.
Isolated from a blood culture from a patient with signs of septicaemia.
