Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive irregular short rods. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming. Corynemycolic
acids are present. Tuberculostearic acid is not present.
Colonies on sheep blood Columbia agar are circular with entire edges, smooth,
creamy and 2-4 mm in diameter after 48 h incubation at 37 ºC. Non-haemolytic.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from cow clinical sample.
Isolated from the skin of the udder of a cow with a profound ulceration.

Fermentative metabolism.
Positive results for acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esterase lipase (C8), hippurate hydrolysis, leucine
arylamidase, pyrazinamidase, Tween 80 hydrolysis, Voges-Proskauer reaction and acid production from glucose.
Negative results for aesculin hydrolysis, arginine dihydrolase, chymotrypsin, cysteine arylamidase, esterase (C4), alpha- and
beta-galactosidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl- beta-glucosaminidase, beta-glucuronidase, gelatin hydrolysis, lipase
(C14), nitrate reduction, oxidase, pyrrolidonyl arylamidase, trypsin, urease, valine arylamidase, acid production from: arabinose,
glycerol, glycogen, inulin, lactose, maltose, mannitol, raffinose, ribose, sorbitol, sucrose, trehalose & xylose.
