Historical synonyms:
Flavobacterium marinotypicum Breed, 1957.
Gram-positive, short, irregularly rods, arranged singly or in pairs, in angles, forming V
shapes. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are convex with entire edges, light-yellow, opaque, moist, 2-4 mm in
diameter. Aerobic growth. Can grow in 2-5% NaCl media; weak growth in 6.5% NaCl.
Optimum growth temperature is 28 ºC. Can grow at 37 ºC.
Isolated from sea water and marine mud.
