Gram-negative rods. Motile. Vacuolated. Non-sporulating.
Colonies on R2A agar are 3–4 mm in diameter, nonpigmented, circular and darker in
the centre, with a translucent and undulating margin. Aerobic.
Growth on R2A agar medium occurs at 10-30 ºC. On blood agar medium, good
growth is observed at 30 ºC; weak growth is observed at 37 ºC. No growth at 42 ºC.
No growth in 0.5-4.5% NaCl.
Isolated from soils chronically exposed to phenoxy herbicides in the AHP region, Argentina. It is able to degrade the herbicide 2,4-DB
(4-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy) butyric acid). Resistant to penicillin.
Undetermined.

bacterium isolated from agricultural soil. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2010, 60, 2606-2612.
Positive results for catalase and oxidase.
Can assimilate D-glucose, D-gluconate, caprate, adipate, L-malate, citrate and lactate.

Negative results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, arginine dihydrolase, cysteine arylamidase, esculin hydrolysis, nitrate reduction,
esterase (C4), lipase, beta-galactosidase, beta-glucosidase, indole production, urease and acid production from glucose.
No assimilation of trehalose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, maltose, norleucine, phosphoamidase,
sucrose and phenylacetate.
