Gram-positive rods. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are shiny, convex, with a dense white center 2-3 mm in diameter. Weakly
haemolytic on Columbia blood agar. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from human clinical sources (blood). Habitat is not known.

arylamidase, acid production from D-arabinose, esculin, D-fructose, D-glucose, gentibiose, lactose, maltose, melibiose, methyl
alpha-D-mannopyranoside, raffinose, sucrose, starch and  turanose.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, catalase, esterase C4, esterase lipase  C8, hippurate hydrolysis, indole production, nitrates
reduction, proline arylamidase,Voges-Proskauer test, acid production from D-adonitol, D-arabitol, inulin, 2- and 5-ketogluconate,
D-mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, rhamnose, D-sorbitol, L-sorbose, methyl beta-D-xylopyranoside, xylitol, L- and D-xylose.

Variable results for alanine arylamidase, cysteine arylamidase, beta-glucuronidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, leucine
arylamidase, urease, valine arylamidase, and acid production from amygdalin, L-arabinose, arbutin, cellobiose, D-galactose, gluconate
(weakly), glycogen, glycerol (weakly), D-mannose, melezitose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, D-ribose, salicin and trehalose.
