Gram-positive rods with a branched or Y-shape (bifid-morphology).
Non-spore-forming. Non-motile.
Colonies are white, 1.0-2.0 mm in diameter on MRS agar after 48 h of anaerobic
incubation at 37
ºC. Grows at temperature 25-42 ºC (optimum 35-42 ºC), pH 4.0-6.0
(optimum pH 5.0-6.0). Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the stool sample of a pygmy marmoset (Callithrix pygmaea).

beta-glucuronidase (weakly), serine arylamidase (weakly), acid production from cellobiose, D-fructose, D-galactose, D-glucose,
glycogen, inulin, D-lactose, maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, melibiose, N-acetylglucosamine, raffinose, rhamnose, D-ribose,
D-sorbitol, starch, sucrose, trehalose, D-turanose and D-xylose.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase,alpha-galactosidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, and  N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase.
Variable and weak acid production from L-arabinose D- and L-fucose.
